They should call them Mmmmmmmargaritas...
(a little sprinkle of a really fruity dried chili pepper is a nice little spicy twist to the margarita.)Dear Self,
Last night you had a gorgeous plate of homemade mexican food?
Yes.
A layer of homemade, slow cooked mexican beans that were heavily flavoured with garlic, peppers and spices. Topped with 3 fried masa dough balls that encased spicy jack cheese, accompanied by green epazote salsa, a sprinkle of cilantro and tomato.
Mmmmm yes indeed.
And self, were there also watermelon margaritas so delicious and flavorful it felt like you were sinking your teeth into some exotic fruit only found in paradise every time you took a sip (of which there were many)?
Yes, yes there were.
And you enjoyed this luxurious meal at home, in the comfy coziness of your own sofa with your sweetie pie husband watching the new Stargate movie?
You bet your gate dialing, wormhole traveling, Samantha Carter lovin' ass I did.
Damn, you know if you weren't me...I'd hate you right about now.
Yeah...I get that a lot.

Hi! Found you over at Corey's on your how we met story. Had to laugh when I saw this margarita. My daughter ordered one or these last week. Argh. She sent it back. Sweet margaritas for us. LOL
Annie!, Hi there, thanks for the visit and comment. These margaritas really were mmmmmm. See we made them ourselves so the sweetness level was to our own liking. Instead of sweet n' sour mix in the drink we just used sour, straight lime juice. YUM! Just puckery enough. :) Maybe your daughter would give the watermelon margarita another chance if she made her own, could be a fun project for you two. hee hee
Hey margarita girl - do you have the recipe for the food you had with the yummy drink? the slow cooked beans and mesa dough balls sound really good and i don't have a good mexican cook book. mmmmmm my tummy is rumbling just thinking about it...
Scibhneoir,Howdy, thanks for the comment. I wrote about my bean making method here http://t2net.com/blogtace/2008/07/evolution-of-me-n-beans.html
The masa balls are sooo easy, you just get some masa flour, add salt and water and possibly garlic powder if that's your style and make a dough. Not too stiff, but something you can touch with out your hands coming away like a glop monster...hee hee. Then you take hunks of spicy jack cheese, like an inch square and mash it in to a ball of dough. I try to make the dough fairly even around the cheese. Then deep fry until golden brown...then eat..eat eat and enjoy the ooszy, crispy, creamy, crunchy, warm soft glory that is a fried masa dough ball.
OHHHHH! sounds like utter 'ecstasty'! Gotta try both the food and the drink!
minshap, they were at least 3/4 pure ecstasy, ha ha, till you start getting full.....ha ha, there's always a catch!
